Flight into Egypt Sampler

Post-nativity depiction of the Holy Family fleeing Bethlehem to protect the infant Jesus. Joseph is holding a lantern and leading a donkey on which Mary, shown with a halo around her head, is seated. She holds the swaddled infant.

Three fat sheep populate the lawn below and the scene above is that of a classic house flanked by trees. The deep pink roof and front door along with wonderful fat trees topped by birds and the many animals all add to the appeal of the sampler.

Excellent condition, conservation mounted into its original figured maple frame.
