A canterbury is a wonderful English form, originally designed for holding sheet music, folio prints or large books. We find these to be terrific for displaying samplers!
This one is larger than many that we have seen over the years, with four generous compartments.
Mahogany, with fine turnings and the drawer is beautifully dovetailed front and back. The brass casters and fine brass drawer handles are all original.
